What a week.
Last weekend was Ed's aunts's wedding in Massachusetts. We travelled up therewith my in-laws and Ed's brother as well. Flying together. Riding together. Lots of quality time. Unbelievable in some cases. Ask me about it sometime ... :) Bastion of liberalism, lesbians wedding and in-laws aside, it wasn't a bad weekend. I think perhaps, that travelling with the in-laws is a little too much quality time, however. Perhaps that is not the best of ideas ...
Then back to work on MOnday and all hell broke loose. July is always crazy because so many people are travelling/on vacation and of course, more people on the road means more accidents. Then there are the silly teenagers who have an accident, give the other person their registration and insurance info, and then go home to their mother and deny that anything ever happened. The downfall for that crazy teenager? He told his aunt about it. So I'm talking to her about whether or not she could verify where the kid was that day and she says
"Oh is this the accident he was in?"
"What did he tell you had happened?"
"That he hit somebody"
"When did he tell you that?"
- Aunt states date and time that the accident happens, it just happens to match what the driver of the car that our kid hit (the claimant) said. Funny thing
"Thanks for your help!"
"Sure thing"
Call to the kid's mother - leave a message, "I need you to call me back with your son on the line. There have been some developments in the claim."
Yeah , developments like your kid's not only a liar but not a very good one at that...
Then there's the guy who swears he was pushed into the front car by a phantom vehicle (a car who hit him and then fled the scene). But he's got no damage to the rear of his car, he didn't say anything about it at the scene, and no one else saw this car. And my driver, having felt an impact from behind him, just never thought to look behind him to see who hit him or what the car looked like. Apparently I must sound ***really*** stupid on the phone...
THen there's the other guy who's claiming he was rear-ended by a phantom vehicle and pushed into the front car, too. And no, he doesn't have any info on the car behind him, just that it was a dark suv with tinted windows (you know, like the ones that run everybody off the road at Christmas time so they can make an Uninsured Motorist claim and don't have to pay their deductibles). My guy puts on a recorded statement, answers the question of "Is this recording true and correct to the best of your knowledge?
with a resounding "Yes, it's all true. Every bit of it" (anyone who answers with anything more than a yes is suspicious in my book...) only to have me tell him "Well, the front car is reporting two impacts." (That means that our guy hit the front guy first, then the phantom vehicle hit our guy, pushing him back into the front car). THe line just went dead silent and after a few seconds I hear "Can I add some information to my statement?"
Hm, like "I'm a liar and I just got caught in it?" No that's ok. People only have to read the notes in my file and see what's going tohappen to your rates to know that.
Then, in my setion of 6, we had 3 people out on Friday, and the two other girls besides me who were left decided to a.) take their full lunch (1 hr) and b.) take it at the same time! Hello ... be considerate. Space out your lunch so it doesn't leave LITTLE OL' ME ALL BY MYSELF ANSWERING 6 PEOPLE'S PHONES????? Take a short lunch, take it at your desk and deal with it. I did. They can too.
Oy.
So , I am finishing the three wedding presents (well, one shower gift and two wedding presents) that i have going, need to clean, am considering cutting my hair reallyreallyreally short and am going to have a great weekend.
And that is that. (no it's not poetic or pretty but I'm just not in the mood to even try today !)
